 About Us
Welcome to the official website of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Israel, the IYAI.
We aim to provide you with comprehensive, up-to-date information about the practice and teaching of the Iyengar Method of Yoga in Israel. Named after Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, one of the foremost yoga masters alive in the world today, the Iyengar Method is practiced and widely taught by certified and apprenticing teachers in Israel.
 Who We Are
The IYAI is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and governing the work of Sri BKS Iyengar in Israel. Active and incorporated since 1995, the IYAI membership draws from all regions of Israel.
What We Do
As the governing body for Iyengar Yoga in Israel, oversees teacher-training guidelines and holds annual certification assessments. It maintains and enforces a code of ethics for its teachers.
We host a variety of Events including workshops and national and international conferences.
The IYAI is the Israeli liaison with B.K.S. Iyengar and coordinates studies with the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.
To apply for Membership the applicant will need to be an Iyengar Yoga Practitioner for at least 2 years and will need to be approved by the IYAI and pay annual membership fees.

Workshops
 Birjoo and Rajvi are coming back to Israel - They will be visiting October 15-20, 2008
1) Advanced workshop 15-18/10/2008 - intended for participants who practice at least 8 years and can stay in Shirshasana for 10 minutes at least. Number or participants is limited ("first come first served"). Enrollment is for the whole workshop!
The workshop includes meals and overnight stay in Kibbuz Inbar. Please bring full equipment. Full price (3 days) is 1250n.s for members, 1400n.s for non-members.
(The workshop starts Wednesday at 9:00)
2. Open workshop for all 19-20/10/2008 – takes place at the sport center in "Beit Dani" in Simtat Cabir Street, number 6, Tel Aviv. Workshop hours are 9:00-13:00.
Please bring full equipment: mattress, 4 blankates, 2 belts, 2 blocks and .
2 days price is 300n.s for members, 370n.s for non-members.
1 day price is 160n.s for members, 200n.s for non-members.
*payment at the day of the workshop will include a fee of 50n.s – send checks early.

Stephanie Quirk from Pune will be conducting in Israel an in-depth yoga therapy course consisting of 6 sessions.
Scheduled dates of the first 3 sessions are as follows:
1) April 24-27, 2008
2) March 26-29, 2009
3) September 10-13, 2009
Participation in all sessions is required. There will be no possibility for partial attendance.
